Samantha Nadel, North Shore, cross country: She won the state Class B championship in 19:25.5 and finished second overall among all classifications.

Erica Sklar, Friends Academy, field hockey: Scored twice in the Quakers 4-0 win in the Nassau Class C final, and three goals in a 5-1 win over Babylon in the Long Island championship.

Alexandra Bruno, Garden City, field hockey: Scored twice in the Trojans' 3-0 win in the Nassau Class B final, and had the winner with 3:09 left in their 2-1 win over Sayville in the Long Island championship.

Katie Trombetta, Sachem East, field hockey: Had six points last week, including the winner in the Flaming Arrows' 2-1 win over Bay Shore in the Suffolk Class A semifinal, and two goals in their 6-1 win over Massapequa in the Long Island championship.

Gianna Minogue, Sayville, field hockey: She made 11 saves -- five in strokes -- in Sayville's 3-2 double-stroke win in the Suffolk Class B final; was spectacular with 13 saves in a 2-1 loss to Garden City in the LIC.

Ever Torres, Brentwood, boys soccer: He scored two goals to lead No. 5 Brentwood to its fourth consecutive Suffolk Class AA championship with a 4-0 win over No. 6 West Islip.

Glen Hyams, Jericho, boys soccer: He scored on a penalty kick with 17:15 left in the game as No. 9 Jericho defeated No. 2 Island Trees in the Nassau Class A finals.

Vincent Antonelli, Port Jefferson, boys soccer: He scored off a feed from Blake Bohlen with 4:53 left in the first overtime in a 1-0 win over Friends Academy in the Long Island Class C final.

Jonathan Kowalyczk, Wheatley, boys soccer: He scored 47 seconds into the second overtime off an assist from Dan Solomon as Wheatley beat Mattituck, 1-0, in the Long Island Class B final.
