Kevin Turano hit two clutch three-pointers in the final minutes to lead Shoreham-Wading River to a 56-55 win over East Hampton in a Suffolk boys League VI basketball game yesterday.

Shoreham-Wading River trailed 52-49 with a little more than a minute left when Turano (14 points) hit a three to tie the score. He added another three from the corner to give the Wildcats a 55-52 lead.

Tim Rotanz, who had eight assists, scored his only point of the game on a free throw with 10 seconds left to give Shoreham-Wading River (2-2) a 56-52 lead.

East Hampton's Thomas King hit a three-pointer at the buzzer for the final margin.

Sophomore Danny Hughes led SWR with 19 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, all career highs.

Connetquot 58, Half Hollow Hills East 53: Casey Baker scored 21 points including five three-pointers, and had 13 rebounds to lead Connetquot (2-1) in League II. Terence Thomas added 10 points and 16 rebounds in the win. East Islip 53, North Babylon 49: Brandon MacMorris scored 22 points to lead East Islip (3-1) in League III. Michael Simonetti added 19 points and Eric McKenna (3 points) hit a layup to give the Redmen a 51-49 lead with 35 seconds left.Islip 60, Rocky Point 55: Brian Pitt scored 12 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter for Islip (2-1) in League V. Tighe Oberg had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Dante McCarthy recorded 14 points and 14 rebounds.

South Side 54, Jericho 43: Gerald Mitchell scored 17 points and Brendan Mcderby added 13 points to lead South Side (2-1) in Nassau Conference A-I. GIRLS BASKETBALL

Smithtown East 53, Smithtown West 46: Samantha Delaney had 22 points to lead Smithtown East (3-1) in Suffolk League III. Brittany Redmond added 15 points and Jessica Anderson had five points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.West Islip 53, Newfield 42: Rachel Hunter had 17 points and 10 rebounds for West Islip (1-3) in League III. Shoreham-Wading River 64, East Hampton 35: Cari Gostic had 17 points to lead Shoreham-Wading River (4-0) in League VI. Courtney Clasen added 15 points and nine rebounds in the win. East Hampton senior Kaelyn Ward scored 11 points, including the 1,000th of her career on a basket in the second quarter.Port Jefferson 57, Southold/Greenport 53: Courtney Lewis had 19 points, including two threes during a 10-0 fourth quarter run for Port Jefferson (3-0) in League VIII. Olivia Raccanelli also scored 19 points in the win.
