Gerard Gigante had 11 kills, Joe Curry added six kills and four blocks and setter Jimmy Lynn had 22 assists to lead Lindenhurst in a 25-17, 25-17, 25-18 win over Eastport-South Manor Thursday in non-league volleyball.

In a matchup of undefeated teams, it was Lindenhurst (9-0) that came away with its record unblemished. The Sharks are 8-1.

"Even though it's non-league, they're the defending League III Long Island champs," Bulldogs assistant coach Angelo Cioffaletti said. "Our guys were excited to play them.

"Somebody was going to leave with a loss and we were praying it wasn't us . . . We were prepared to get into a shootout with them. There was no way we were coming out flat. The guys were definitely pumped. They came out ready to go and held it."
