Phillips helps Smithtown East girls win
Delia Phillips had 38 kills as Smithtown East rallied for a 3-2 win over Ward Melville on Friday in a Suffolk non-league girls volleyball match.
Trisha Baxley had 16 kills, and Maggie Engellenner had a career-high 39 as Smithtown East overcame a one-game deficit to outlast the Patriots, 25-13, 23-25, 23-25, 25-15, 27-25. Phillips left with a sprained ankle during Game 5 with the score tied at 25 and was replaced by senior Meghan Meadows, who recorded the winning kill.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Valley Stream Central 3, Levittown District 2: Omar Hack had five kills, Munib Ahsan and Peter Grimes each had four aces and Luke Demas added five blocks as Valley Stream Central rallied from a two-game deficit for a 16-25, 13-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-19 victory.

Garden City 1, Cold Spring Harbor 1: Jenna Fuchs scored with 12:25 left to tie it for Garden City in non-league. Maggie Dischmann scored and Taylor Striar made nine saves for Cold Spring Harbor.
Commack 1, Centereach 0: Nicollette Lodato scored the go-head goal with 19:20 left to lead Commack in Division I.
Miller Place 2, Riverhead 1: Jamie Emma scored with 18 minutes left in the first half to give Miller Place a 2-0 lead in Division III.
