Former Long Beach and current Hofstra wrestler P.J. Gillespie was named the Colonial Athletic Association co-Wrestler of the Week for Jan. 26-Feb. 1 after knocking off Gabriel Burak, the 19th ranked wrestler in the country at 165 pounds, from Penn, 3-2, on Sunday. He shared the award with Rider's Jimmy Kirchner.

The win was Gillespie's second over a top 20 wrestler this season. Gillespie, a sophomore, jumped into the InterMat's national rankings at No. 17.

He amassed 214 wins at Long Beach, currently the third best mark in Long Island history, and leads Hofstra with a 25-10 record this season (including wins in seven of his last nine dual-meet matches). His career record is 46-27 with six pins.

Gillespie and the Pride will travel north tomorrow for matches against Binghamton and No. 7 Cornell. Hofstra's last home match is Feb. 20 against Drexel.
