I just got back from the Lindenhurst Tournament (full write-up in tomorrow's paper), so here are a couple of thoughts:

Amityville's Mark Jerrick is a serious threat at 140. It took him all of 50 seconds to pin Lindenhurst's Joe Napoleon in the finals. Jerrick is aggressive, disciplined, confident... he will be a real handful come Suffolk Tourney time.

The heavyweight finalists, Greg Martin of Kings Park and Evan Wildberger of Lindenhurst, put on a heck of a show. Not the bulkiest of the big guys, they are both agile for their size... a nice change of pace from the sometimes lumbering heavyweights we are used to seeing. Martin, with a 3-1 decision, had just enough to pull it out.

With 262 points, Kings Park won the team title, 13.5 points ahead of host Lindenhurst.
