Record: 37-3
Heading into the season, there were few wrestlers on the Island as accomplished as DeKrone, a reigning Suffolk champion and state runner-up at 130 pounds (a one-point loss).
Then, the season began, and DeKrone did not disappoint.
Only one of his losses has come at 138, and he dropped a 1-0 decision to SWR's John Keck at 152, Keck's natural weight. Of his 37 wins, 29 have come by either technical fall or pin. His three losses are the most of anyone in the top-five, but there are few wrestlers with his level of championship experience. Should he advance to the state tournament, he will be a threat to go all the way.
