TSN's Darren Dreger posted on Twitter that Richards would only waive his no-trade clause for one team, believed to be the Rangers. The Kings were the only other team that showed an interest in acquiring Richards before today's 3 p.m. deadline; the Leafs were reportedly interested, but sources said Richards had no interest in going to Toronto.

Even at the Stars' asking price as of yesterday -- according to the Post, it's Artem Anisimov, the Rangers' first-round pick and a top prospect -- the Rangers aren't biting. They are waiting to see if Stars GM Joe Nieuwendyk drops his demands further in the next 5 hours.

Another person close to the situation said the Stars are fully aware that Richards won't re-sign with Dallas; if he will only waive his no-trade to be a Ranger, that's another strong sign that Richards isn't long for Dallas and it may be time to get some return for him.

Long way to go today.
