Sophomore Mike Cupolo scored three times, the first shorthanded, as C.W. Post defeated Scranton, 7-2, to win the Great Northeast Collegiate Hockey Conference title Sunday night in Bristol, Pa. Senior Jim Rettig added a goal and two assists and senior Shawn Hroch, who scored 36 goals this season, scored once. Sophomore goalie Will Niefeld made 22 saves for Post, which finished 18-9-1 and ranked 11th in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division II rankings. The Pioneers defeated La Salle, 3-0, in the quarterfinals and Bucknell, 5-1, in the semifinals. Scranton is 16-2-1.
