Al Montoya a "possibility" for tomorrow

 Although coach Jack Capuano wouldn't commit, he said that recently-acquired Al Montoya was a "possibility" for tomorrow at home against the Penguins.

Montoya--traded from Phoenix in exchange for a 6th-round pick in 2011--is reporting to Bridgeport as of now, but will likely be recalled when the Islanders return home for the second of their back-to-back set.

Several players have either played with or against Montoya in the AHL--PA Parenteau, ROb Schremp, Frans Nielsen, etc-- so are familiar with what type of goalie will be joining their ranks.

"Plays the puck really well. Really quick feet, a reaction goalie," Schremp said. "When we were kids--12 or 13--he used to put BBs on your tape from the goal crease to the far blue line."

Capuano has also coached against him on a few occasions in the AHL.

"I saw him only a couple of times. He battled, he competed. He stopped 52 of 53 shots the one game that he played against us, so obviously he played pretty well that game. The couple games I saw of him, we struggled scoring some goals."
