Islanders agree to terms with Trevor Gillies on contract; Gillies expected to join team tmrw
UPDATE: Trevor Gillies is expected to join the team in Philadelphia tomorrow.
The Islanders have agreed to terms with forward Trevor Gillies on a two-way contract for the remainder of this season.
Gillies, an enforcer for Bridgeport, has 123 penalty minutes in 18 games played with the Sound Tigers this season.
Earlier this week Scott Gordon talked about the team's need to play more physical. Gillies, at 6-3, 220-lbs, will be expected to bring the size and toughness the team craves.
