Islanders send Brock Nelson to Bridgeport

Brock Nelson was a healthy scratch for the fourth time Saturday night and the Islanders decided the rookie forward needs to play. He left the Coliseum with his gear after the 4-3 loss, headed for Bridgeport.
Nelson had one assist in four games with the Isles. The Sound Tigers are in action Sunday, so the plan is for Nelson to play and the team will decide what to do from there.
If Lubomir Visnovsky is out for an extended period with the concussion he suffered Saturday night, the Isles will need to add another defenseman. That most likely would be veteran Radek Martinek, who has been skating with the team without a contract for the past week.
When talking about Nelson and Matt Donovan sitting out before the game, Jack Capuano said it was simply numbers and matchups.
"It's not like Dono has done anything wrong," Capuano said. "Same with Brock being out. We're going to make some changes here and there, depending on what we need."
Moulson producesMatt Moulson began the game on the third line with Peter Regin and Cal Clutterbuck, the same unfamiliar spot he occupied for the previous two games. But John Tavares' usual linemate returned to the captain's wing after the sluggish first period and Moulson finished the night with a goal and two assists, giving him six points for the season.
"He's a guy who's never going to complain," Capuano said before the game. "He's one of our leaders."
Komisarek returnsWest Islip's Mike Komisarek returned to the Coliseum, playing only his second game for the Hurricanes this season. Komisarek, 31, hadn't been back since the 2011-12 season.
His five-year, $22-million deal with the Leafs was bought out this past summer and he signed on with Carolina for one year and $700,000 as a seventh defenseman.
