The Islanders roll into the Igloo tonight for the first time this season, looking to build on an impressive four-game winning streak.

More impressive than the number of games they have strung together (four straight, five in a row at home, and six wins in the past seven games) is who the victories have come against.

The Islanders absolutely crushed Detroit  one week ago, outlasted the Sabres in a nail-biting eight-round shootout on Saturday, then toppled the Atlantic-leading Devils yesterday.

The formidable competition continues tonight as the Islanders take on the 2009 Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins. The Islanders will be in hostile territory tonight as the Penguins return home from a grueling five-game road trip that ended with three games in Western Canada last week (Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver).

The Islanders are 1-1 against the Penguins this season, but have yet to play at Mellon Arena. Given the way they handled Martin Brodeur last night, the Islanders could thrive against who they face in net tonight.

Both Marc-Andre Fleury and Brent Johnson are banged-up. although according to the PTB, Dan Bylsma indicated that Johnson will start and John Curry, who gave up five goals on 14 shots Saturday, will back him up.

No morning skate for the Islanders because of back-to-back games, but figure Dwayne Roloson to be the starter after Rick DiPietro made consecutive starts Saturday and Monday.
