Isles trail 4-1 after second period

Well, that didn't last long. Islanders relinquish the lead with four goals in the first 10:21 of the second period. Heading into tonight's game Mike Santorelli had career goals. He scored two more in less than four minutes. Radek Dvorak and Stephen Weiss also tallied for the Panthers.

The meager 9,157 in attendance booed the team leaving the ice, and who can blame them?

Isles lead 1-0 after first period

Islanders take their first lead since last Thursday against San Jose--their second in the past 12 games--with Moulson's wrister at 13:07.

Former Islanders Bryan McCabe gifted Moulson with a giveaway in his own zone and Moulson capitalized for his 8th goal of the season.

After two Panthers penalties  within 15 seconds, the Islanders were awarded 1:45 of 5-on-3 time. The Islanders will have :36 remaining of their two-man advantage to begin the second period.

Islanders face the 8-9-0 Panthers tonight with Dwayne Roloson in goal (Rick DiPietro will get the start for tomorrow's 5 p.m. contest in Atlanta).
