Josh Bailey is out four to six weeks with facial fractures, an injury suffered as he was crushed into the boards by Alexei Ponikarovsky during Thursday night's loss to the Penguins.

The NHL has suspended Ponikarovsky two games for the boarding major during the third period, a swift and fair response to the action.

You can bet the league didn't also want the issue of retaliation lingering when the Penguins visit the Coliseum Sunday to close out the regular season.

On the bright side, Bailey will only miss the two games remaining in the regular season. However, he will not get to play for Bridgeport and gain playoff experience if the Isles' AHL affiliate makes it to the post-season.
