Worlds Roundup: Tavares named Player of the Game for Canada; U.S. upset again
Islanders rookie John Tavares tallied twice on the power play in Team Canada's 6-1 rout of Latvia today, earning him Player of the Game honors.
Fellow Islanders Scott Gordon, Kyle Okposo and Jack Hillen didn't have as bright of a day; the US team was handed their second overtime loss in three days. Denmark, including Isles center Frans Nielsen, upset the American squad 2-1. Both Okposo and Nielsen collected an assist.
Next up for team USA? A big game against Finland on Wednesday where they'll try to avoid a trip to the relegation round.
