Bloomberg reporting that team, owned by Jeff Vanderbeek, has hired Moag & Co. to oversee. Have not confirmed whether this is entire team or piece, like the Wilpons/Mets affair.
The Kovalchuk contract, which Mr. Vanderbeek lobbied for, may be a tipping point, Attendance not great. But value of team is probably millions higher than when he purchased.
Plenty of storylines, fallout here: What does this mean for future of team in NJ? Are there enough willing local investors to stay in Newark? Is Winnpeg a possibility?
Will Zach Parise still be around? Lou?
I've got my hands full covering the Rangers, but this could have major ripple effects in the New York market. Maybe anti-Rangers fans would shift allegiances to Isles?
And wonder if any potential new Isles owners -- would consider a move to Newark?
