Chris McCarthy of U of Vermont in fold, will report to Hartford
Forward Chris McCarthy, 22, who scored 18 goals and 42 points in 38 games for the University of Vermont this season, has agreed to terms on a contract.
But the Rangers are at the maximum 50 players under contract, so he will report to Hartford as an amateur tryout. The contract kicks in next season.
McCarthy, who is from Collegeville, Pa., is 6-1, 205 and had 46 goals and 114 points in 150 games at UVM.
