Rangers fans always fill many of the seats at the Prudential Center when their team crosses the Hudson for a visit. But this time the Devils hope to limit the blue tinge in the stands for Games 3 and 4 of the Eastern Conference final.
Earlier this week the team launched a "No Blue'' campaign, complete with a Twitter hashtag using the slogan and specific advice on the team's website about how to keep tickets out of the hands of Rangers fans.
The site encouraged fans to avoid reselling tickets on the open secondary market and instead to use Devils-related blogs as a way to connect with fellow Devils fans.
Sometime Wednesday the original posting was pulled, but the site continued to offer a link to an exchange on which fans can buy directly from season ticket holders. The link followed this message:
"New Jersey Devils individual game tickets for the Eastern Conference Finals of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs are SOLD OUT but seats remain on the secondary market. Protect home ice and come support your Devils against their cross river rivals."
