Heard around: Vigneault, forward options, Moore

- One of coach Alain Vigneault’s changes is to hold the morning skate on game days at Madison Square Garden rather than at the training facility in Greenburgh. Vigneault and almost every player live in Manhattan, so the commute is easier. Not for Anton Stralman, however, who resides in Westchester with his family. Some days, it has taken him 90 minutes to drive to the Garden in rush hour. “I don’t mind too much, it’s kind of like a road trip,” said Stralman, whose performance hasn’t suffered. The Swedish defenseman is having his best season as a Blueshirt.
- With the Florida Panthers rebuilding under a new coach and trading veteran Kris Versteeg to Chicago last week, the Rangers and other teams are seeing who’s available: Forwards Scottie Upshall, Marcel Goc and Tomas Kopecky are among the names surfacing.
- Dom Moore was very comfortable Saturday speaking in French to the Canadian media. Turns out he didn’t learn at Harvard, and laughed when asked if there were Harvard-Yale French club battles on the weekend. Moore who was born in Sarnia, Ontario, attended an immersion school as a youngster. “Didn’t use it much in high school or college,” he said, but to the media in French when he played here and Toronto.
