Ruslan Fedotenko knows the drill: Even with his long-standing relationship with coach John Tortorella, which dates to Tampa Bay's Stanley Cup season in 2003-04, there are no guarantees.

"It's nice to have that trust, but if I don't deliver, I'm not going to play. That's the bottom line," said Fedotenko, 33, who was a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game Friday. "I don't feel like I was producing enough."

Fedotenko, who has played in 65 games, has eight goals and eight assists, but only one of each in his last 16 games. "I still have a tremendous amount of faith in Feds as far as what he does," said Tortorella, who anticipates Fedotenko will rebound in the playoffs.

In the Penguins' Cup run in 2008-09, Fedotenko had seven goals and 14 points in 24 games. "He's been there, he's been successful there," Tortorella said. "He understands the intensity, how it ratchets up. I think it's something that's important, especially when you're dealing with some guys that haven't done this. He'll play again and we'll see where we go with it."

The 11-year veteran, in his second season with the Rangers, said he has been "focusing too much on defense, not enough on offense. I'm not saying I need to sacrifice my defensive play, but there has to be an emphasis on creating offense and scoring goals. I want to play my best and go into the playoffs and improve going forward. The ultimate goal is to win the Cup. That's why I came back and that's what I want to do."

Biron likely in TorontoMartin Biron (12-5-2, 2.38 GAA) is likely to start in goal Saturday in Toronto in the second game of this back-to-back. The Rangers are 2-2-2 on the road in the second games of back-to-backs.
