Two KHL games that were supposed to be played in late January at Barclays Center in Brooklyn are kaput.

According to Shawn McBride, a spokesperson for the league in the U.S., there was "really strong feedback from fans of the teams who were to be playing in Brooklyn that they wanted these late-season games in Russia."

No tickets had been sold for the games between Moscow Dynamo and St. Pete SKA in New York. They will now be played in Moscow and SP.

McBride said the games, which were scheduled for Jan. 20 and 21,  had been the topic of recent discussions by the league's board of directors, and that future games at the arena, which the Islanders will call home starting in 2015, were not ruled out.
