Martin Biron, not Lundqvist, in net

                 Kind of a shocker with Biron making his Garden debut as a Ranger.

                 Personally, I thought  Henrik would ge the start, especially since coach John Tortorella acknowledged that Hank had played his best two games in Boston and against the Devils. 

                It will be the first time that Lundqvist hasn't started at MSG since Oct. 19 of last year, when he replaced Steve Valiquette (five goals) after the second period in a 7-3 loss to San Jose. For Biron, it is his second start. He made 24 saves in the 2-1 defeat of the Leafs in Toronto last Saturday.

                "Our plan with him (Biron) is trying to get him each month, three or four starts...he played good in Toronto....if it wasn't Boston, where Hank has tremendous numbers, maybe we even go back with him. We have to get Biron back in...because he needs to play. Because we think it's going to benefit Hank, in the last month of the season. It all comes into play. He cannot be sitting as long as he was prior. "   

                I asked if it would interrupt Lundqvist's rhythm or groove, and Tortorella said, "No, that won't bother him.  When I talked to them both yesterday, Hank thought practice time really hepled hi...amd  this is done in concert with Ben. He's with these guys every day, we're doing this in concert. This is not to force Marty into a game....Lundqvist is our No. 1 guy, we're looking out for him. We just feel that with the schedule coming up, with the number of games in November, Marty needs a game."

             On defense, Matt Gilroy and Steve Eminger are in again as the third pair, not Mike Sauer, who is healthy. "We thought Emmy played a pretty good game (against NJ), we're going to give him another one," said Tortorella.
