NHL fines Canes' D Ryan Murphy for hit on Dorsett
Hurricanes D Ryan Murphy has been fined $2,213.68 for the low check that upended Derek Dorsett on a rush at 13:36 of the second period on Saturday during the Rangers 5-1 win.
Murphy received a two-minute minor for clipping. Dorsett was incensed, and he went after the rookie once he picked himself up off the ice.
Rangers coach Alain Vigneault called it a "very dangerous" check because it could've have caused a knee injury.
