Ryan Callahan broke his hand after being struck by a Kris Letang shot on a power play in the first three minutes of the game. Chris Drury took his spot with Anisimov and Dubinsky. Unreal. First game back for Drury (finger) and Callahan goes down.

The Penguins took a 1-0 lead with just 12.4 seconds left on the period, when Sidney Crosby faked a shot down the middle on the rush, as Marc Staal and Dan Girardi were drawn to him. Instead, he slipped the puck to his left and Evgeny Malkin swept to the crease alone from the left side, and he braked and went back to his forehand to tuck the puck past Henrik Lundqvist. The assist extended Crosby's point streak to 20 games. The Pens outshot the Rangers 15-6 and won 12 of 16 faceoffs. They had hemmed in the Rangers for about a minute with about 3:30 left.
