              Amid all the frustration in the locker room about another close game---the last twelve games have been decided by one or two goals---Brandon Dubinsky was upset about the Rangers inconsistent work ethic.   

              “Honestly, I don’t care if it’s a one or ten (goal differential), it’s a loss,” Dubinsky said . “I thought we outworked them today; I don’t think we outworked New Jersey the other night. I’m upset because the way we played today is the way we need to play, but consistently.”

              Dubinsky, who did not record a shot on goal, also was surprised that the Flyers were not whistled for any penalties in a gritty game. “Especially that team,” he said.  It was the third time in Flyers history that they have gone an entire game without a penalty and the first since Nov. 26, 2000.

            With 66 points, the slumping Rangers remained in 7^th place in the East, two points ahead of the idle Hurricanes, who they face in Raleigh on Tuesday. They are six points ahead of the ninth-place Sabres, who lost 2-1 to the Capitals…Among the possible wingers from the Connecticut Whale to replace Marian Gaborik: Evgeny Grachev, Brodie Dupont and Kris Newbury….Brandon Prust, who was a minus-2 and appeared to be having pain in his aching thumb, played just 39 seconds in the third period…The third d-pair, Michael Del Zotto and Matt Gilroy, played just 1:08 and 1:25 in the third…Will the Rangers pull the trigger on a deal for a defenseman this week?....Vinny Prospal played just 11:17 and had one shot…Wojtek Wolski scored his first goal in 10 games and had six shots…Derek Stepan scored his 15^th goal and won eight of 13 faceoffs.  The Rangers are 0-4 against the Flyers for the first time since 2003-04...
