Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semifinal between the Capitals and Rangers Saturday averaged 4.8 percent of homes in the metropolitan area, the highest rating ever for an NHL game on NBC Sports Network in New York.  The game averaged a 7.67 rating in Washington, D.C.
Overall, the conference semifinals averaged 1.29 million viewers nationally on NBC Sports Network, the best on record for a cable network.
It will be interesting to see what ratings numbers the Devils-Rangers series pull in New York. They should be pretty good, as the momentum and hype ramps up - especially if it's a long series.
It's been quite a 100 days around here, no? The Giants won the Super Bowl, then there was Linsanity and Tebowmania and a resolution to the Mets' Madoff mess and Andy Pettitte's shocking un-retirement and now Rangers-Devils with a spot in the Cup final on the line.
Pretty cool. This sort of thing doesn't happen in Oklahoma City.
