Scrimmage: Fasth scores twice in 8-3 win
The White prospect team whipped the Blues today in the frist scrimmage of camp. G Scott Stajcer surrendered five goals in the first period of 20-minute running time. Two periods, not three, for these games.
Another one tomorrow, 11:30.
My three stars: Jesper Fasth (two goals, assist), Dylan McIlrath (goal, assist), Christian Thomas (goal, assist). Could make case for Carl Hagelin (who missed wide stick side with a penalty shot) in there, and perhaps Shane McColgan, who was buzzing. Pashnin, like last year, hit anybody nearby, and was gassed near the end of his shifts. Big D Samuel Noreau struggled. Again, all this waaaaaaaay early to determine anything.
Rapid box score....
Victor Kamensky with first goal of camp from right side, 1-0
Andrew Yogan 2-0
Fasth 3-0
McIlrath, 4-0
Oscar Lindberg 4-1
Shane McColgan 5-1
Fasth 6-1
Tommy Grant from Hagelin 7-1
Thomas PS 7-2
Fasth to McDougall 8-2
Ryan Bourque from Thomas 8-3

Cam Hope, the team's capologist, told me he is leaving the organization July 1. Hope, a bright and amiable attorney, said he really enjoyed the people in the organization and the industry. He and his wife remain be in Manhattan for a bit, then have no definite plans. Both have family in Canada. "You only live once," he said.
