I should've known better.
After staying up all night at the Sofitel Hotel last Saturday night, thought this Saturday would be a breeze: Players end voting at 8 a.m.---we were told---sides finish up and sign of on memo of understanding, release schedules and camps open Sunday
Sounds easy, especially since NHL BOG ratified deal on Wednesday afternoon.
I should've known better.
Nothing has been done on time in this business bumbling, from being unable to forge a deal before losing hundreds of millions of dollars and alienating fans and sponsors, to inking the last document.
Should've known better. It's 10:10 p.m. Players ratified CBA, with only 12 dissidents voting against, hours and hours ago.
Nothing happening.
Nonetheless, in Newsday, you will read a NYR training camp preview tomorrow (maybe it will still open for physicals), five questions for the team, and maybe, just maybe, a schedule. Well, you'll at least have a schedule on the web, if all the t's are crossed at a reasonable hour.
Should've known better.
