Rangers working OT
The Rangers played to a tie for the second straight game, finishing 1-1 with the Florida Panthers at Madison Square Garden. Both goals came in the first three minutes. Tom Fitzgerald put the Panthers up 1-0 just 1:45 into the game. Alexei Kovalev knotted the score on a power play 1:15 later, assisted by Pat LaFontaine and Adam Graves. Mike Richter stopped 30 of 31 shots in the Rangers' net and former Ranger John Vanbiesbrouck stopped 26 of 27 Rangers shots. It was the Rangers' fifth game (0-3-2) in an eight-game winless streak (0-4-4). The three that followed all went into overtime, giving the Rangers five straight overtime games in which four ended in ties.
