As those who've followed this year's edition of the Blueshirts have figured, the organization isn't kidding about getting younger. Half the current roster is 26 or under. And that spelled no room for 35-year-old vet Todd White. Good guy, likes living in Westchester, I hope he gets another shot in the NHL next season.

John Tortorella said as much to reporters at the Rock at 5 p.m.  I'll be at Chez Zipay watching on MSG Network tonight as I have my last day off for 2010.

Follow my colleague @stapenewsday on Twitter for game reports. I'm not hosting a live chat this week, but tonight I'll respond to comments and questions on the board here and twitter.com/stevezipay and beginning tomorrow from Florida, where the Rangers face the Lightning and Panthers.

Interesting that Torts said Dale Weise may get another callup. He had a solid debut against the Flyers, almost scored and fought Dan Carcillo. Seems as if Derek Boogaard (possible concusiion) isn't in the picture short-term.

Henrik Lundqvist vs Martin Brodeur tonight;  Same d and lines as vs the Isles: Zuccarello-Stepan-Gaborik, Dubinsky-Anisimov-Drury, Fedotenko-Boyle-Prust, Avery-Christensen-Frolov.
