Phoenix GM Don Maloney is managing to stay very active despite the still-uncertain ownership situation. The Coyotes get Klesla, 28, from the Blue Jackets for third-pair D Sami Lepisto and pesky winger Scottie Upshall.

Klesla is an original Blue Jacket who played just 60 games over the previous two seasons and has missed games this season. He's got three (!!) more years left on his deal, at a $2.975-million cap hit.

Not sure where this fits in the long-range plans of a Coyotes team that might not even be in Phoenix going forward, but it may help the Coyotes' playoff push.
