The likeable former Ranger is the latest in the exodus from South Florida. Atlanta sends Niclas Bergfors, who was one of the key pieces to the Ilya Kovalchuk deal, and another former Ranger, Patrick Rissmiller. Atlanta also gets a fifth-round pick.
Dvorak will be 34 next week and has fashioned an excellent career out of hard work and good health. Not sure he's a difference-maker for the sliding Thrashers, and Bergfors had 21 goals as a rookie before earning a permanent spot in new coach Craig Ramsay's doghouse. He has talent.
This is the first trade of the day, with 4 hours until the deadline.
