Belmont Park horse race track announces ticket plans for re-opening in September

The reopening of Belmont Park is nearing, and tickets are about to go on sale.
The New York Racing Association on Tuesday announced ticketing and admission plans for Belmont Park’s return to racing this fall following its three-year redevelopment. New York State committed $455 million to the project with NYRA contributing an additional $100 million.
A limited number of general admission tickets for the Friday, Sept. 18 program will be made available at 10 a.m. Thursday at NewBelmont.com. Tickets will cost $50 and include complimentary food, soft drinks and a commemorative program. The live racing program will be anchored by the Jockey Club Gold Cup, a $1 million Grade 1 race that provides a Breeders’ Cup Classic berth for the winner.
"Whether seeking an affordable day at the races, a flexible option for multiple visits or a premium experience, we’ve created a variety of admission and seating choices at different price points to fit the needs of our fans," NYRA vice president of sales and hospitality Kevin Quinn said in a statement. "We look forward to welcoming visitors to the new Belmont Park as we begin an exciting new era for this historic venue."
General admission on Sept. 19 and Sept. 20 will cost $10 and include a commemorative program.
Starting Sept. 24, general admission tickets will cost $7 when purchased in advance and $10 at the gate.
During the fall, general admission tickets will allow fans access to the first floor of the grandstand and outdoor areas including the backyard, paddock viewing areas and apron. General admission will provide fans with access to grandstand seats on most days, except for opening weekend (Sept. 18-20), Sept. 26, Oct. 3, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31.
Fans also can purchase various season pass plans for the fall meet. The fall meet pass ($185) provides admission to 45 race days, the fall weekender pass ($99) provides admission for 24 weekend days from Sept. 19-Dec. 6, and the superfecta flex pass ($20) includes four self-selected race days race that can be redeemed throughout the fall.
Reserved trackside grandstand seating will be available for $50 per day (and include a $25 food and beverage credit) on Sept. 19, Sept. 20, Sept. 26, Oct. 3, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31.
Belmont Park will operate with a capacity of 6,000 during its opening weekend and shrink to 4,000 beginning Sept. 24. NYRA said that facility capacity will be increased as additional portions of the building open.
Gates open at 11 a.m. daily, and parking lots open at 10 a.m. The first post on Sept. 18 is 1:30 p.m. The first post on Saturdays will be at 12:05 p.m., and the first post on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays will be at 1:10 p.m.
