Steve Matthews' Aqueduct selections for Saturday, Jan. 24
Best bet: COMPLEX AGENDA (7)
Best value: D'ONT LOSE CRUZ (4)
FIRST: Complex Music was done in hot pace last time; softer flow predicted. Analog Jones cuts back and will be in the garden spot if top selection hits the wall. Exploration is another Linda Rice runner that would be aided by pace meltdown.
SECOND: Sports Hero fired crisp half-mile work since clear-cut third in last; more to come. Seeker's Hope owns speed, drops and bested top selection by more than a length on Dec. 26; very playable. Army Proud owns four seconds and three thirds from 12 outings; another minor award?
THIRD: Just Tipsy is speedy and could play out as the dominant front-runner. Pride of the Union looms the prime beneficiary if top selection wilts. Where's Your Boom has finished second all three starts; another placing?
FOURTH: D'ont Lose Cruz regressed in last after fast-figured win in prior; rebounds. Dot's Dollar could play out as the speed of the speed with aggressive handling. Canyouhearmerunnin could be ideally positioned if pace duel develops.
FIFTH: Lean Music Machine drops and packs potent late kick on "A" efforts. Gypsy Dreaming was a fast-figured, front-running winner in last; very dangerous. Come Full Circle could be in the garden spot if fractions get hot and hectic.
SIXTH: Lucille Ball has won both career starts by a combined 15 1/4 lengths; more to come. Scalable should pack amplified wallop with cutback to 7 furlongs. Just Katherine is another that will be aided by turnback to sprint.
SEVENTH: Complex Agenda did the dirty work up front when fourth in last; can make clear early lead with heads-up handling. Turn and Count, an uncoupled barn mate of top selection, could be ideally positioned if Complex Agenda is improperly ridden. Did It Dialed is rested and training with a purpose.
EIGHTH: Waitlist was done in by wide trip in last; rail draw seals the deal. Chillax is working sharply for first start since gelded; very playable. Valentinian owns fast back figures; don't ignore.
NINTH: Skylander gets class relief after making forward move in last; more to give. Aleah Aleah is speedy and could prove very tough on a soft lead. Run Happy Pappy runs late and could be aided by stretch to mile. Mr. Ripple logs fast numbers on best efforts.
