Berger's five goals lead Lizards to MLL final
The two-week break between the end of the regular season and championship weekend didn't slow down Stephen Berger and the Lizards, who defeated the Denver Outlaws, 16-12, Saturday in a Major League Lacrosse semifinal in Annapolis, Md.
The Lizards, who have won six straight, play the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the final at 1 p.m. Sunday at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis.
Berger had five goals and one assist as the Lizards (8-5) reached their first championship game since 2005. Zack Greer had four goals and Keith Cromwell one goal and five assists for the Lizards.
