Shaylyn Blaney's unassisted goal, her sixth of the game, with 10:09 left gave visiting No. 8 Notre Dame (1-0) a 13-12 victory over Hofstra in women's lacrosse Tuesday. Casey Kellogg's goal with 13:11 left tied the score at 12 for Hofstra (1-1), which was led by Courtney O'Connor with three goals.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Vermont 64, Stony Brook 49: Destiny Jacobs led Stony Brook (8-19, 6-9 America East) with 14 points and five rebounds and Kirsten Jeter had 11 points and eight rebounds. Vermont is 23-5, 13-2.

Nassau CC 61, Queensborough CC 58: Antoinette Jolly's 15 points, 15 rebounds, 10 steals and six assists led Nassau CC (16-5) in the Region XV quarterfinal. Lisa Bellissimo had 18 points and 13 rebounds. Nassau plays No. 2 Suffolk CC-Selden (19-3) on Saturday in the semifinals at Westchester CC.
