Add one more honor to Josh Byrne’s already impressive lacrosse resume.

The former Hofstra attack was taken No. 1 overall by the Buffalo Bandits in the National Lacrosse League draft Monday night in Toronto.

Byrne, a third-team USILA All-American last year and a two-time All-CAA first-team selection, scored 71 goals and tallied 40 assists in two seasons with the Pride.

Byrne was named the Major League Lacrosse Rookie of the Year this summer with the Chesapeake Bayhawks. He scored a MLL rookie record 39 goals and had seven assists in nine games for the Bayhawks.
