Kelsie Whitmore scored a run after entering the game as a pinch runner for the Staten Island FerryHawks in their 6-3 loss to the Ducks at Fairfield Properties Ballpark Thursday evening.

Whitmore, who earlier this month became the first woman baseball player to start in an Atlantic League game, entered the game in the ninth inning following Angel Aguilar’s double. She advanced to third base on Kacy Clemens’ groundout to first base and scored on Rymer Liriano’s two-run home run for the game’s final runs.

Whitmore has played in seven games and has scored two runs.
