John Rodriguez may have just one World Series at-bat, but that is one more than most people.

J-Rod, as his teammates call him, was part of the 2006 World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals, who defeated Detroit in five games. Rodriguez spent his first eight seasons in the Yankees system after being signed as an amateur free agent in 1996. He earned promotions to the majors in 2005 and 2006 with St. Louis, where he hit .298 with seven home runs and 43 RBIs in 158 big-league games.

The 32-year-old Manhattan resident returned to the Yankees Triple-A affiliate last season before joining the Ducks last month. The rightfielder is hitting .340 with one home run and eight RBIs in 28 games.
