Ducks win first postseason series
Lance Davis went 72/3 innings and Bill Simas completed the shutout as the Ducks defeated the Nashua Pride, 1-0, at Citibank Park in Central Islip to clinch the North Division title and a trip to the Atlantic League Championship Series. Joe Cotton got the last out in the eighth inning before Simas came on for the ninth. The Ducks scored in the bottom of the first inning on two-out doubles by Kimera Bartee and Doug Jennings. In the franchise's fifth season, the Ducks qualified for postseason play for the first time and won the third game of the best-of-three series. They advanced to the championship against the Camden Riversharks, where they would sweep the first three games of the best-of-five series.
