There have been many memorable guests in a quarter century of New York sports radio, notably Boomer Esiason, who went from appearances on “Mike and the Mad Dog’’ as a player to becoming a WFAN host himself.

But no paid weekly visitor has delivered more colorfully and consistently than Giants defensive back Antrel Rolle during his three seasons on WFAN’s midday show with Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts.

Most recently Rolle caused raised eyebrows Tuesday when he questioned whether everyone in the locker room believes the Giants can win.

I asked Rolle the next day whether he enjoys the spots – a chore many coaches and players do reluctantly just for some extra dough – as much as he seems to.

“When we win, it’s real fun, and I look forward to it, but when we lose, I don’t look forward to it much,’’ he said. “I’m not having any fun, especially now.’’

Either way, Rolle believes he is providing a service.

“It’s cool,’’ he said. “I think it’s always good for outsiders to hear little insights of whatever you can display from your perspective, just interacting with the outside world in its entirety, I think that’s always a good look.’’

Rolle said he enjoys working with Benigno and Roberts. “They’re cool guys, man, class-act guys,’’ he said. “They have to ask questions; they have to do their job. But for the most part we have a great relationship and I love working with those guys."
