It took only six days for my first sports media prediction for 2010 to come true. Not bad!

David Cone is leaving the YES Network after two years, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Here is a statement from Mr. Cone via YES: "My YES deal was up at the end of the 2009 season, and I’ve chosen not to return in 2010 in order to spend more time with my family.

"If I do return to broadcasting, YES would be my first choice.  I’ve enjoyed a great relationship with everyone at YES and I leave on the best of terms.”

Said YES: "David was a valued member of our team, and he will be missed."

No word yet on who will replace him - if anyone.

An expanded role for Paul O'Neill would be nice, but in the past O'Neill has been resistant to that idea.
