End of WCBS' Yankees road?
Turner and Fox have TV rights to the playoffs, so the only regular Yankees voices heard will be WCBS radio’s John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman.
Still unanswered is whether this will be the last Yankees autumn for the station - and for the announcers. CBS’ contract is up and ESPN is expected to bid.
Its shaky signal at 1050-AM would be a huge concern for fans, but ESPN long has been looking to buy a local FM station. That would help a lot, not only for Yankees games but in ESPN's long, losing New York ratings war with WFAN.
