FAN is not a fan of soccer
I have heard from some soccer fans displeased with the local sports talk hosts whose take on the World Cup has ranged from stubborn indifference to outright hostility.
There is no need for the latter, but as for the former, let me put it this way: They know their audience.
If you enjoy soccer, turn off the radio and watch the games. Fear not: Baseball season still will be going on after July 11.
(UPDATE: In fairness should mention here that 1050 ESPN is on board with the mothership's coverage of the event, including carrying Friday's U.S. vs. Slovenia tilt live.)
