Game 7 gets best overnight rating for NBA since 1998
Game 7 of the NBA Finals averaged 18.2 percent of homes in major markets, the highest such figure for an NBA game since Game 6 of the 1998 Finals between the Bulls and Jazz (22.6).
The rating peaked at 23.7 between 11:45 p.m. and midnight, further proof of what the networks always say: Ratings for major sports events go up, not down, after 11 p.m. Eastern Time, no matter how much tired, cranky East Coast writers and parents complain about late games.
