Habs take bite out of NHL ratings
The Canadiens are the most storied franchise in hockey, but that doesn't make them a big ratings draw in the United States.
They play in Canada, for one thing, and they lack major star power, for another.
Hence their back-to-back Game 7 upsets of Alex Ovechkin's Capitals and Sidney Crosby's Penguins were huge blows to Versus and NBC for the third and fourth rounds of the playoffs.
Worst-case scenario for the Cup finals: Sharks-Habs.
I did some snarky Twittering on this subject Wednesday night that yielded a fair amount of re-tweeting, which is nice for my ego.
