I will be taking the rest of August off to prepare for my fantasy football draft, so forgive this being a tad early side, but it’s important:
On Aug. 26 HBO will premiere a documentary about iconic announcer Marty Glickman called “Glickman,” simple and to the point, just as Marty would have liked it, and just as he taught sportscasting to generations of disciples from Marv Albert to Bob Costas to Bob Papa and beyond.
James Freedman’s film includes interviews with many of the future media stars influenced by Glickman, some of whom will attend a screening on the 24th celebrating the film and the man.
