Islanders rate w/viewers
As of Jan. 2, the Islanders' TV ratings were up compared to last season by a higher percentage than those of any team in the NHL, according to the Sports Business Journal.
The Isles' jump has remained impressive since then. Not counting Tuesday night, they are averaging 0.39 percent of area homes, up 105 percent from 0.19 this time last season.
(True, that's less than a tenth what the Yankees average on YES, but it's hockey. Be nice.)
Their full-season ratings the past three years were 0.18 in 2008-09, 0.23 in 2007-08 and a microscopic 0.13 in '06-07.
