Justin Shackil and Rickie Ricardo will fill in for John Sterling on Yankees radio for the team’s next two road series, WFAN announced on Thursday.

Shackil, 35, will debut alongside Suzyn Waldman for the series at Toronto that begins on June 17. Ricardo, 60, will handle the series against the Rays that begins on June 20.

Shackil has been a reporter for the Yankees’ digital productions and hosts David Cone’s podcast for Jomboy Media.

The Fordham alumnus called minor league baseball games in the early 2010s.

Ricardo is the Yankees’ longtime Spanish-language radio play-by-play man and filled in for Sterling when Sterling was ill during the 2020 season.

“It’s an honor and a pleasure to do it,” Ricardo said on WFAN’s morning show. “No one’s ever going to replace John; we’ll all be our own, individual selves.”

Sterling, who turns 84 next month, will miss 25-30 games on relatively long trips. He will continue to work home games, nearby road games and all playoff games.
